Mass effect 2 is said to give the gamer  many choices and that one is bound to make a wrong decision. However,  the only reason I found that someone could make a wrong decision is either because they were curious or because they are impatient.

In Mass Effect 2 the so called “millions of moral choices” are not that difficult to make. For instance, if you think of Mass Effect 2 as just a game then you will probably be able to understand what to say and when to say it. And the only reason one would make a wrong decision was if they were impatient or were just curious of the out come. Questions like: “Do you want to save those innocent people” would come up and I would pick the obvious answer, “Yes”. Just to prove a point, I saved the game right before I made the decision and found that the only consequence for saying no was that I didn’t save those people. To add, more often than not the questions are quite placed out right. For example, the plot of Mass Effect 2 is to gain a LOYAL team and acquire as many squad mates as possible. So when the questions arises: “Do you want to help your squad mate” the obvious answer is “Yes” and the outcome would be a LOYAL squad mate. Not very deep. It also seems as though most of the choices you make are either Paragon or Renegade: Good or Bad. There isn’t much ambiguity in any choice you make nor is there any foreseeable change. So if one is being a Renegade they will click the left mouse button when prompt to or the red dialog. If one chooses to be a Paragon they can wait for the Paragon dialog to show up in Blue or hit the right mouse button when prompt to. Complicated or story altering decisions that were shown in advertisement are never present and never as advertised during the hype trailers and featurettes. Also, most of what you say ends up in the same outcome anyways. If one chooses the Renegade dialog they say “don’t hurt me” before jumping to the dialog.  In contrast, if one chooses the Paragon dialog than they will say “Oh, Thank you” before continuing with that same dialog. My bet is that there are probably two endings: one being a Paragon ending which ends with a happy event. Alternatively, when you make Renegade decisions, rush through and don’t do all the side quests, the ending will be bad. Lastly, the so called flirting and sex scenes can be seen from a mile away and the dialog for it is as shallow as any other in Mass Effect. Choices are either Flirt or don’t flirt. Literally one of the dialogs choices was: “I am happy you are on my ship” or the alternative “Lets talk about something else”. Really? Which one would a person choose? I wonder?

None the less, I suppose this article sets the mood of my “Second Look” coming up next week. Howver I am not as depthless as this game so my decision is not strictly of the dialog. The game does other things a lot better. And so to answer the Question: Is Mass Effect 2 Complicated? No, but frankly I don’t care I am still playing it non-stop.
