Windows Live Messenger Beta is out and it is actually quite impressive. This may be the only Microsoft product I know which doesn’t have something OVERLY wrong about it. The layout is easy to use, the changes are noticeable, you can customize your layout, when you click on a link it doesn’t open Internet Explorer it opens your default browser, and it doesn’t make you download a tool bar. The Beta has a few extra features like groups; customize your sign in sound so that when you sign on, people will know it’s you. It also has a whole new layout which is a little worse for me, I like to have the photos and stuff on the right because if I am watching a YouTube video I just hide the pictures and only leave the text. The Beta is worth it but there are a few issues like not being able to see your custom emoticon, but the others can. You can to but only before you hit ‘Enter’ (after you do the icons change to the text format :P = : P).
