Since the change to New FaceBook a lot of my friends have been complaining how annoying it is, and how the ‘News’ and Wall Post are in the same section. People don’t seem to realize that you can easily change things, and that it gives you many options. (At the end if you are still not satisfied, I have found a way to change it to old FaceBook)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

The New FaceBook has ‘Filters’ which you can use to distinguish your ‘Wall Post’ from your ‘Post’. It gives you the ability to just see Wall Post or only your Post or everything jumbled into one but why do you need to see what you just did? Now that FaceBook uses AJAX it makes life a lot easier for computers and cuts down on load times. For those of you who don’t know what AJAX is: When you click ‘Next’ or Page [2], it doesn’t reload the whole page anymore, just the part that needs to be. For example when you click ‘Next’ in the Photo section, it does that cool swoosh effect and then you see your next few photos. This cuts down on load times, and gives FaceBook a much cleaner and more modern feel. If you don’t like AJAX then you are out of luck since WEB 2.0 is starting to use AJAX more and more. With the chat feature (which is pretty pointless) you can chat up with friends, but I am sure if you have FB you have MSN; the two go hand and hand.

Now How to Change Back to Old Facebook:

  1. Please Go download Google Chrome From here: http://www.google.com/chrome you will need it to be able to follow the instructions.
  2. Go here and add this Application.
  3. Next click this and you should be seeing the old FaceBook.( If you want to see this every time (I THINK) you can just add this link to your favorites and then it should do the same. But I think you have to log in first. )

Then Open Google Chrome:

  1. After you follow those instructions stay on the Old Facebook home page.
  2. Go to the Wrench Icon in the top right hand corner in Google Chrome.
  3. Go to the bottom of the ‘Under The Hood’ tab you should see ‘Show Cookies’ Click it
  4. VERY IMPORTANT FOLLOW THIS CAREFULLY!!!!! In the search bar type ‘Face’ and everything you see with Facebook should be deleted. If you have a saved password (thats scary), or saved user name those will be gone.
  5. If you did this properly (as much as possible) then you should have to sign in again.
  6. Sign In, and then sign out, close the window and then sign in to test if the old one stayed. If it did then congrats!. IF it didn’t then write a comment explaining what is going wrong and I will help you out personnally.
I have to warn you guys though Facebook will probably figure this out so hussle and get this done. But eventually you are going to have to get used to it, they will eventually figure out a way to force everyone to use the New Facebook. In the mean time enjoy and have fun.

“I hope that quenches your thirst even if it may not be concrete you still get a taste.”

(The Links are posted at the bottom. The second one is the one you add to your Favorites or bookmarks. You shouldn’t have to if you followed the instructions correctly)

There is also this Video on Youtube. I have not tried it my self, so I don’t know if it is legit or not (seems to be though). But it does have a very good walk through. Hope it all works out for you guys.
