I have the recent update for my PS3 and it has a lot of issues.
When I download a Firmware Update I expect it to fix a couple of things. But the 2.43 Update did something which I find very aggravating. Every time I start a game e.g. Call Of Duty 4 and I want to exit the game the PS3 crashes it never did that before. If I try to Shut Down I get that double beep to let me know something went wrong and then it shuts down.

So I have concluded that the 2.43 Firmware Update is faulty, please use caution when downloading. For those of you who live outside of Japan you don’t even need to update so I would recommend you wait till the 2.50 update which is set to release in late October.
