I think I figured out the reason behind having to sync your headset up to your ps3 every time.
The reason may be because of people using wireless. The Ps3 has only a few wireless access. So While using Wireless internet you use up a good amount. So you have to sync your headset up every time. I tested this, using wired and wireless. I started my ps3 synced up, and the shut the ps3 off completely even from the back switch. Then I turned in on and played COD 4. I did this while using wireless and I had to sync up again. Next I tried wired, To my surprise I did not need to sync up or anything it connected and I was ready to talk right from the start.
So to fix this:
1. Connect wired
2. Re sync. Meaning just go connect, this will be the last time you see the screen till you get another mic!!!
This may have something to do with the 2.4 but right before I figured it out I did not Even have the update.
Another thing I found out is, if you turn off your headset and while the PS3 is off, and then turn it on when you need it first off you won’t need to charge it, secondly won’t drain battery, and thirdly this helps. I turn of my Sony Ericson headset everytime I shut off my PS3, and then turn it on when I need it. This works, if you plug it into the charger you will need to reset connect, and if you leave it on you will need to also. So bassically the Headset will sync by its self if you shut it off and then turn it on.
